But close by (approx. 5 min drive), in Barbarasco you will find restaurants and bars as well as small local businesses like a grocery, butchery, post office, greengrocer, barber etc.
The area is not usually visited by tourists. The local restaurants feature local wine (remember) to select “vino della casa” (rosso or bianco), fantastic local cuisine, prepared with local ingredients – and therefore affordable! Here you can still afford to take the whole “la famiglia” out.
Within a 10 min drive from the house is a thriving town “Aulla” with 10.000 inhabitants.
Here you can buy everything to your heart’s desire. Among other things is a large Conad supermarket, with a fish department, butchery, deli with all types of cheeses and not the least a fabulous assorted greengrocer. Umh...

The Lunigiana area is surrounded by “gray” mountains, right up to 2000 m altitude. On the north-east lies the Apennines and the south easten horizon is dominated by mountains in the Alpi Apuane Nature Park.
